How it works

There are two ways to get help.

Drop in on Monday. Come between 5 and 6 p.m. No registration is required, and help is first come, first served, according to the city calendar listing.

Reserve a session. If you want a set time, call the library at (313) 563-2822 or email info@inksterlibrary.org. The city's listing says requests must be made at least one week in advance.

The library says the sessions cover computers, smartphones, email and similar everyday tech, with help paced to each person. The library puts it simply: "Don't let the forever changing world of tech intimidate you."

A few things worth bringing: your device and charger, any passwords you will need (written down somewhere safe, not on a sticky note on the device), and a short list of what you want to learn.

Also at the library: Intro to AI

The library is also offering a beginner-friendly Intro to AI series covering what artificial intelligence is, how it works and the most common AI tools people use. The library lists it on the first and third Wednesdays and on Saturdays, 1 to 2 p.m. The listing does not mention a fee or registration, so call (313) 563-2822 to confirm the next date before you go.

Earlier this fall the library held Internet Basics (Sept. 26) and Microsoft Word Basics (Oct. 17) classes for adults. Both have passed. Keep an eye on the library's events page for future sessions.
